There are three different airports to enter New York. JFK Airport, Newark International Airport and LaGuardia Airport. JFK Airport is generally used directly from Istanbul. Other airports can also be used if there is a transfer sometimes. If you get to JFK, you can come to the city center by metro. The heart of the city is known as Times Square.
If you wish, you can reach by using cabs (taxi) or shuttle. There is no transportation problem in the city. So you can choose whichever suits your budget. Cabs will cost you about $50. As far as I know, it is not possible to come to LaGuardia only by metro. You can solve it by using a cab.
The two best ways to get around the city are by subway or taxi. Let me start by cabs first. As it is known, the subway line is very developed and I will explain it in more detail. The cabs are quite cheap. Opening $2.5 and 0.40 cents for 0.5 miles. So you can use without hesitation, especially for short distances.
The subway line is incredibly common and advanced as I mentioned earlier. It is always nice to explore the city by walking, but I think it would be very useful to use the subway since you can’t always walk.
I think you get a seven-day subway card which is valid for seven days and costs $30. You pay once but you get free transportation for seven days. You can purchase these cards from machines on the subway stations.
“No, we will not use a lot of subway” If you say so, you can buy from the disposable card, which is valid for two hours and is $2.5. These are sold in the same machine again. After taking these cards tear off. If you buy the first time you want an extra $1. But you do not pay more than $1 if you load that card.
Each subway line has a color and name. Don’t look too complicated. Once you know where your destination is, all you have to do is follow the colors. By the way, the subways are incredibly filthy. Be prepared. They have a very large network, but they’re just as filthy.
