Barcelona. I don’t think there is much point in praising a city where it is so easy to love, so visually appealing and emotionally pleasing (if I were describing a person that way, I would probably get married). You will love Barcelona, you will definitely want to go back at some point, you will be filled with the desire to take pictures and document this beauty every second while walking.
2023 Where Did We Stay in Barcelona?
Our plan for this trip to Barcelona has been incredibly sudden. That’s why we thought we might not have performed incredibly well in finding a home, because we had to make do with the limited options we had. However, fortunately, we managed to capture a nice enough place both in terms of location and visually.
Even though it is a house, it is also a hotel-like place, so there is a reception desk, someone who can help you if you have a question, and an area where you can leave your luggage if you are going to be in the city outside the check-in/check-out time, these are the biggest pluses. It was also very good in terms of location and there was a metro stop very close, so you can definitely take this house among your options. I’ll leave the link here.
If you can’t find a place here or don’t prefer this place, once you find a place close to the metro, you won’t have your back to the ground, look according to where you will stay. Since the city is a bit too beautiful visually, you will want to walk to many places, so even if it is not close to the metro, it is not the end of the world. Regardless, since this is not a small city and the places you want to see are scattered in various regions, you will have to use a transportation vehicle at some point.
Where Have We Visited?
Before we go over the places we visited on this trip, I would like to remind you again that if you are going to Barcelona for the first time, first of all, take a look at our other Barcelona guides. Otherwise, if you go by just browsing through this guide, you will miss out on many of the main tourist spots in the city.
*As part of this Barcelona trip, Casa Vicens was the priority place we said we were glad to have gone. Casa Vicens, Gaudi’s first architectural project in Barcelona, was originally built as the summer residence of the Vicens family, but has been turned into a museum for us to visit later on, and is often overlooked by tourists for a reason we can’t understand. If you are interested in Gaudi’s works, you should definitely drop your way, as it is truly an incredibly beautiful building. Don’t forget to watch video content starting from the city of Barcelona and Gaudi on the top floor to the story of Casa Vicens, it’s nice to see old images.
*We visited CaixaForum as the new museum and we had a very enjoyable time as we coincided with the Magritte exhibition. Several exhibitions can be held together in CaixaForum, depending on the period you visit, you can visit their website and see if there is something on your mind. You can also take a look at CCCB’s program as a different museum alternative. Although we have visited before, we stopped by MACBA again because it is a museum we love, so keep it in the back of your mind. It is the best and touristic one among them, if you haven’t visited before, you can give priority there.
*I mentioned that Barcelona is a bit MUCH more beautiful city visually. A level of beauty that makes people nervous… If it’s like this, WHY DON’T WE HAVE A FAMILY, getting to the point of taking photos angrily… Who knows how many buildings you will look at and sigh at while walking around the streets, but I would still like to leave a few that you might want to visit specifically; Casa Pere Brias, Casa Planells, Casa Ferran Guardiola and Casa Padua. I think you should stop by the Gaudi works Casa Batllo and Casa Mila, which have already turned into touristic activities, and I couldn’t stop writing them.
*You can also stop by Placa de la Gardunya, which is right behind Mercat de la Boqueria, to capture beautiful photos, it provides 10 Instagram posts… We may have taken more photos than ourselves of the Escola Massana building and the building just across it.
